Shoe philosophy

The world created by shoes, is different from the barefoot world: detached, abstracted, insulated. It is a world less concerned with the topography of the ground and less attentive to its objects and textures. But at the same time, this artificialised condition releases human from the grip of physical discomfort and lets them ‘transcend’ the physical world to their desire. Shoes can, in fact, act as a symbolic foundation of human identity.

Creation of visual depth using hue and contrast. The blue framed square at the upper right of the painting is a tool to clarify compositions.Adding a distraction of colour in a scene, to accentuate compositional elements.

Mixed media on canvas. Mixture of acrylics, bentonite clay, and PVC glue were put on canvas. Let it dry for couple of days to make sure the cracks were formed properly.
